Presentation: Ognjen Vranjes

OTHER Last month we introduced you to the first six newcomers of Anderlecht. Meanwhile there are twelve newcomers. Time to briefly introduce you to the second load of reinforcements. Today: Ognjen Vranjes.

Previous club: AEK Athens
 
Vranjes already played at a lot of clubs in his career. He broke through with Banja Luka in his home country and then played successively for Red Star Belgrade, Napredak, Sheriff Tiraspol, Krasnodar, Alania, Elazigspor, Gaziantepspor, Sporting Gijon, Tom Tomsk and AEK Athens.
 
Moreover, Vranjes did not succeed in all these clubs to enforce a basic place. Based on the clubs and figures you would not get enthusiastic about the Bosnian.
 
Why did Anderlecht put more than three million euros on the table for the defender who was almost end of contract? Vranjes was perhaps the best defender in the Greek league last year. Last summer he was on the radar of Crystal Palace.
 
Vranjes is not slow and strong in the duels. With purple-white, he has to compete as a right-footed defender with Josué Sa and youngsters Sebastiaan Bornauw and Abdoul Karim Dante.
 
Hopefully the Bosnian will find stability at Anderlecht after he has played eleven clubs in the past nine years.
