Anthony Vanden Borre was replaced by coach Hugo Broos during the break of the match against Cercle Bruges, after he had made a blunder, which caused the second goal. The young defender was very impressed after the match.

Still, he could understand the decision of the coach. "I'm mentally in low water, but the coach and the team mates supported me very well", said the Red Devil. "I played a good match, until I made that stupid blunder. I just didn't hit the ball good enough. After that mistake, I lost all of my self-confidence. I'm glad we still won, and that my blunder didn't cost us points. I'm happy I can go to the training of the Red Devils now, so I can forget this match as fast as possible. I made a youth sin, it's unacceptable and it may not happen again. I have to come back stronger than before."

Also coach Hugo Broos supported his player after the match. "If I let Anthony play like this for several weeks, his season is totally wasted. With this substitution, I wanted to protect him", explained the coach.
