INTERVIEWS Marc Coucke wants to build a new stadium for RSC Anderlecht in the future. But the question is: where? The sites in Neerpede owned by Anderlecht are not an option according to Brussels Prime Minister Rudi Vervoort.

The municipality of Anderlecht has just approved a building permit for the construction of a new sports and banquet hall at the Jesse Owens Stadium, which is located directly opposite the football fields of RSC Anderlecht. Moreover, the Brussels Region wants to preserve the green character of Neerpede and a new stadium certainly does not fit into those plans. "Neerpede is no longer a potential site for a new Anderlecht stadium", Vervoort was formally.

The municipality of Anderlecht therefore continues to adhere to its proposal to build a new stadium on the industrial estate. On the other side of the canal there is a vacant area that, according to the municipality, is suitable for the future plans of Marc Coucke.
