OTHER Marc Coucke, the new chairman of the Pro League, wants to put together a working group that will work out a new format for the 2020-2021 season. There are no changes before that season.

Club Brugge pleaded until Tuesday to remove the halving of the points. But Coucke links the competition reform to the new TV contract, which will start from 2020-2021. From 2020, a two-thirds majority will be sufficient in the competition reform.

Coucke wants to concentrate on this and wants to set up a working group that will consist of two representatives of the G5 (the five largest clubs), two representatives of the K11 (the smaller clubs of first class) and one representative from 1B. "We start with a clean sheet", says Coucke, "all proposals can be examined."

Coucke also said: "We can investigate in all countries of Europe what the influence of their competition format is on the satisfaction of the spectators and the revenue from the TV rights."
