OTHER Standard did not receive a punishment for the 'wine glass incident' during the home game against Anderlecht during Play-off 1. A supporter threw a wine glass on the pitch. Before you think that this is now permitted and you're planning things like this yourself: it is thanks to a procedural error that Standard avoids a penalty.

The prosecutor of the union demanded a fine of 500 euros for Standard for the incident in question. However, Standard's lawyer pointed out that the official report of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office had not been filed with the registry of the KBVB. There was also no reason for criminal proceedings in the file. The Football Association's Disputes Committee therefore declared the sentence to be inadmissible.

Standard is not the first club to be released by such negligence. Earlier, Club Brugge, Mouscron, Kortrijk and Lokeren also escaped from a penalty.
