Stéphane Badji ended up at Anderlecht at the end of the winter transfer period of 2016. It soon became clear that he did not have the technical skills to play in the purple-white midfield. He still played his best / least bad games as an emergency solution on the right back.

Compatriot Cheikhou Kouyaté stood up for his compatriot a year later: "In his own style, Badji can give Anderlecht a lot, it would be a mistake to let him leave. Continue to support him. You will not be sorry".

It did not help. Anderlecht sent Badji on loan last summer to Kayerispor in Turkey, where he immediately became a key pawn. The Senegalese has no future in the Astridpark and will probably be sold this summer. Recovering the purchase price of 2.65 million euros is unlikely to succeed.
