TRANSFERS Luc Devroe has already largely done his homework. He talked on the player core for next season and this is already largely fixed. The manager said he wanted to get at least five more players and he also mentioned the positions.

In Het Nieuwsblad Devroe talks on the players core for next season. He named the following names:

  • goalkeepers: Sels, Boeckx, De Jong
  • right side: Najar, Appiah, Saelemaekers
  • left side: Cobbaut, Saief, Amuzu
  • central midfield: Trebel, Kums, Gerkens, Makarenko, Sambi Lokonga, Kayembe
  • wingers: Morioka, Adzic, Musona, Abazaj
In the above list the names of Idrissa Doumbia and Emmanuel Adjei Sowah are missing. Sowah seems to have been overclassed by Saelemaekers. Both are likely to be lent, just like Wout Faes (Excelsior wants to keep him), Aaron Leya Iseka (Ostend) and Jorn Vancamp. Devroe does count on Edo Kayembe. Whether the young defenders (Hannes Delcroix, Abdoul Danté and Sebastiaan Bornauw) stay or will go on loan, Devroe did not reveal. Obradovic and Chipciu were not named, but we know that they may leave.

In the center of the defence and in the attack the posts are still open. Kara, Dendoncker, Teodorczyk and Thelin can still leave, thanks to their World Cup participation. "Deep in the attack we want two more certitudes and in support of the striker. We can also use at least one player in the back. I want two top defenders."

Devroe reckons or hopes that Trebel will stay. "If he leaves anyway, he will certainly be replaced."
