OTHER Over the past season, Anderlecht suffered an operational loss of ten million euros, Marc Coucke announced. He wants this differently. Coucke wants to work with a break even budget so that variable income (such as transfer fees) can be invested in infrastructure and new players.

In recent years, Anderlecht used the income from outgoing transfers to close the loss in daily operations. This is not how Coucke wants to work. The risks are too big: what if the transfer revenues are disappointing?

"Structural loss is unhealthy and we must avoid it, the goal is an operational break-even, and to achieve this, we will review all budgets", Coucke is clear. "We have to be able to use the income from the Champions League or transfers to invest, not to resolve financial losses."
