GAMES The season ended for Anderlecht with another defeat. This time, Racing Genk beat the Mauves in Brussels with 1-2. Anderlecht end on the third place and is directly qualified for the UEFA Europa League group stage.

Anderlecht started the game with a lot of worries: many players were injured or suspended and others were barely fit after a long time of inactivity. Genk on the other hand, had most of their team available.

The Mauves wanted to win their last match and started with a lot of ball possession and enthusiasm. But as so often this season, they lacked creativity to do something with the ball in the opponent's box. Genk on the other hand were efficient: a fast counter attack led to a nice goal scored by Trossard, but the video assistant referee intervened for offside. Though Genk would make it to half-time with a double bonus: Wouters scored with a fantastic shot and two minutes later Trossard took the entire defense by surprise with a nice action: 0-2.

Early in the second half, Teodorczyk brought Anderlecht back into the game with a header on a center of Saelemaekers. But a real offensive only started 15 minutes before the end. Trebel almost scored on a free kick and Teodorczyk header another chance over the goal. Sambi Lokonga had the last chance of the season with an effort from distance, but it went wide. Final score 1-2.
