YOUTH The Belgian U17 have placed themselves at the expense of Spain for the semifinals of the European Championships. The boys of Thierry Siquet defeated the defending champion 2-1. Anderlecht players Loïc Masscho, Lucas Lissens and Mathis Suray were in the starting eleven.

Suray was replaced by his team mate at Anderlecht Halim Timassi (photo). With Timassi on the field, the young Belgians turned the situation around. The midfielder was barely a minute on the field when he served Yorbe Vertessen (PSV) and he scored the equalizer. Eight minutes later Jamie Yayi Mpie (Sampdoria, former Anderlecht) put the 2-1 on the board.

That also was the final score. In the semifinals, the young Devils will face Italy on Thursday at 1 pm. The other semi-final is between England and the winner of the game between the Netherlands and Ireland.
