Again Saint-Étienne-striker linked to Anderlecht.

TRANSFERS Robert Beric was not a huge success, but now the French press is once again linking a striker from Saint-Étienne to Anderlecht. This time it is Jonathan Bamba, a 21-year-old Frenchman who scored six times this season and gave five assists.


Bamba was a key player for Saint-Étienne before the winter break, but this calendar year he was already on the bench twice in four games. On Saturday, he scored the winning goal for Saint-Étienne against Caen as a substitute.

Bamba is a fixed value with the French U21. In the current qualifying campaign for the next European Championship he was in the starting eleven five times (in the same number of games) and scored once. His current market value is estimated at 6 million euros.

Last season Bamba played before New Year on loan for STVV. He scored twice in eight games.
