GAMES Anderlecht suffered a dramatic defeat against Charleroi. At home, Anderlecht conceded three goals and only scored once. Deschacht and Teodorczyk were sent off with red cards. The gap with Bruges is now 10 points and a victory in Bruges is absolutely needed.

The match kicked off in apocalyptic circumstances due to snowfall and heavy rain and wind. The field remained in a good condition throughout the match though. And Anderlecht took the best start with a distance shot and a weak header. But after 15 minutes, Rezaei went down in the box. Referee had seen a foul of Deschacht and gave a penalty and a yellow card; a very hard decision as there wasn't really a foul committed. Rezaei scored the penalty: 0-1.

Before Anderlecht recovered from this blow, Deschacht was even sent off. The defender made an unnecessary foul and received his second yellow. Shortly after, Rezaei was stopped twice by Sels. That way, the result at half time remained 0-1.

The second half didn't bring any better football. After 60 minutes, the match was even over when Kums tried to keep Rezaei from scoring but he accidently slid the ball into his own goal: 0-2. Charleroi controlled the match and Benevente even scored 0-3 after a nice combination. Onyekuru was able to save Anderlecht's honour in the last ten minutes. Right before the end, Bedia received his second yellow, just as Teodorczyk (for diving).
