Ghent wins title, draw for RSCA

AA Ghent is the new champion of Belgium. Ghent defeated Standard 2-0, Anderlecht played 2-2 against Kortrijk. Club Bruges defeated Charleroi and is now second in the ranking.


Anderlecht seemed to have suffered a serious mental blow from the draw against Standard. The Mauves started with a low pace, bad passes and no danger at all. Kortrijk didn't do much better. This resulted in a boring first half, with just a few opportunities on both sides. 0-0 was a logical score at half time.

During the first ten minutes of the second half, Anderlecht seemed to secure the victory with nice goals of Praet and Mitrovic. But the pace dropped again. The home side was not able to do anything with the ball possession they suddenly had again, until the 1-2 was scored out of nowhere. Kortrijk felt that even more was possible and also rapidly scored the 2-2.

Anderlecht woke up again, but it was too late. With this draw, the second place also seems lost...
