GAMES Anderlecht opened the league yesterday against newcomer Antwerp. The ruling champions immediately lost points as the match ended in a scoreless draw. The first half was simply boring to watch with no chances, but one weak shot. The second half was interesting with Anderlecht developing pressure, but lacking luck and precision to score.

Anderlecht and Antwerp produced a boring first half. The home side had slightly more ball possession, but besides a weak shot from Anderlecht, nothing really happened. The scoreline remained therefore unchanged until the break.

The second part of the game was a lot more interesting with Anderlecht monopolising the ball and developing pressure. Teodorczyk, Chipciu and Hanni were all stopped by an excellent goalkeeper Bolat though. And also corner kicks and free kicks were unsuccessful. On one of the many excellent corner kicks of Sven Kums, Kara headed but the ball was cleared from the line. Stanciu's free kick in the dying seconds missed the target for just centimeters. Final score: 0-0.
