Defour to sign five year deal for Anderlecht

Anderlecht can announce their first big transfer of the season. Belgian international Steven Defour will sign a five year contract for RSC Anderlecht. The Mauves paid between 5 and 6 million to FC Porto for the player.


The negotiations with Defour had been going on for a long time already. Even last season his name was already mentioned as a possible reinforcement. The last few weeks it became clear that PSV Eindhoven and RSC Anderlecht were the only concrete options left for Defour. The Mauves had the advantage to have excellent connections with Defour's managers though.

The decision fell yesterday evening and the player will officially be introduced to the press today. It's likely that Defour is Anderlecht's most expensive incoming transfer ever. Last season, the Belgian champions paid 5 million for Mitrovic. The transfer fee of Defour is estimated between 5 and 6 million. The Red Devil can earn around 1,5 million euro per year in Brussels. He's expected to sign his contract today.
