Injured Proto misses the World Cup

Silvio Proto had to be replaced in the match against Lokeren. De Pauw stepped on his hand and the goalkeeper broke his ulna. Further examinations will follow tomorrow, but an operation is most likely needed.


This means that Proto will miss the World Cup in Brazil. The Anderlecht keeper was selected as third goalie, after Courtois and Mignolet. Federal coach Wilmots already added Sammy Bossut (Zulte Waregem) to his selection.
