GAMES Anderlecht successfully ended the first match in play-off 1. The Mauves won a difficult match in Zulte Waregem and put pressure on Bruges and Ghent. No matter the outcome of that match, Anderlecht remain first.

The Mauves took control over the match after a slow start. The first chance was for Teodorczyk, but it was Chipciu who scored after 20 minutes on a brilliant pass of Tielemans. Zulte Waregem couldn't react, but Anderlecht couldn't score the second goal. Trebel, Tielemans and Hanni tried with good efforts though. The home side only had one chance with a shot of Leye.

During half-time, coach Franky Dury had brought Gueye into play to reinforce his team's offensive line and that worked out just fine. Zulte Waregem took control over the match. Anderlecht managed to ward off the first 15 minutes of pressure, but after bad defending of Hanni the equaliser was a fact. He left Dalsgaard all free to head and his second header in 30 seconds was good for a goal: 1-1. The home side kept coming, but Tielemans gave his team some oxygen. With a nice action he placed the ball perfectly between the post and the goalkeeper: 1-2. Teodorzcyk had the opportunity to finish the match, but he was stopped by goalkeeper Steppe. Zulte Waregem had several chances as well: Boeckx saved an excellent effort, Gueye's shot hit the crossbar and in the last minutes the Anderlecht defence had to clear a ball from the line twice. Like that, Anderlecht started the first match of the play-offs with a victory: 1-2.
