Thorgan Hazard is one step closer to Anderlecht. Our sources indicate that Chelsea agreed that Hazard should play for Anderlecht instead of for Zulte Waregem. The player himself would also prefer a move to Brussels.

Hazard already came close to a deal with Anderlecht in June of last year. But the Chelsea player eventually stayed on loan in Zulte Waregem. But Anderlecht lacks leadership and creativity on the midfield and is thus looking for immediate reinforcements. A deal with the player was already found in mid December, but Zulte Waregem would like to keep their playmaker.

Talks between Anderlecht and Chelsea led to a break-through. The London club who owns Hazard would prefer their player to finish the season in Brussels. A deal is therefore close. The arrival of Hazard would probably mean the end of Vargas. The South American player will be loaned to another club in that case.

Another option remains Steven Dufour of FC Porto. Dufour is aiming for a place in the Belgian national team, but does not come of the bench much in Portugal. Therefore he needs to find a quick solution. Besides Anderlecht, not many other clubs are interested. This means that Anderlecht can still hope on a deal with the midfielder.

And also Michy Batshuayi of Standard could still come to Anderlecht. Everton would be prepared to pay the needed 8 million euro for the Belgian striker, currently playing for Standard. But the English side see them more as a replacement for Lukaku, who will be called back to Chelsea in June. Until then, Everton would be prepared to let the striker play for Anderlecht.
