Anderlecht beat Waasland-Beveren and take the lead

GAMES Anderlecht beat Waasland-Beveren today with 3-0 and took over the lead from Club Bruges that didn't win (2-2 against STVV). KAA Gent took the play-off 1 ticket from KV Mechelen by beating them with 3-0. Westerlo lost against Genk, while Mouscron won. This means Westerlo relegate to 1B.

Anderlecht started with Stanciu and Appiah in the starting line-up. The Mauves immediately took control over the match and even scored after just 4 minutes. Bruno was given too much space and shot the ball in the bottom left corner. The home side dominated the entire match and created chances with shots from Tielemans and Stanciu. The second goal fell after 20 minutes, when Hanni sent Teodorczyk deep. The Polish striker scored: 2-0. Before half-time Kara Mbodj scored the third of the afternoon, in the rebound after a shot of Hanni. Bruno had a good chance to score the fourth, but his effort was saved.

After the break, Anderlecht continued to push forward under impulse of a good Stanciu. He also had the best chance, but his shot was saved by Köteles. The Mauves remained in control and didn't give away any serious chance to the opponent. Replacement Thelin was close of scoring the 4-0, but he was just a fraction too late on a good centre. Final score: 4-0.
