Aruna Dindane is mad at Anderlecht because he is not allowed to leave, and very frustrated. He even emptied his locker yesterday. His manager, coach Hugo Broos and chairman Vanden Stock gave their opinion on his behaviour.

Manager Serge Trimpont: "Of course he was absent because he is not allowed to leave. Aruna is very disappointed. He is very frustrated, and things are getting out of hand. I'm not surprised by his reaction. I even warned Anderlecht that this could happen. I understand my player. Anderlecht promised him last year that he could leave for a big team if he extended his contract. Lyon is a big team, I think. They couldn't even bring out an offer. Also Tottenham was interested. And chairman Jeremy Pearce of West Bromwich Albion was in Brussels Wednesday. They really want to have the Ivorian striker. The player will decide whether he will play tomorrow. I can't predict what will happen. But it sure doesn't look good."

Coach Hugo Broos: "I understand the decision of the team not to let him leave. He is not allowed to leave, he has to play the Champions League. And there also wasn't a good offer for him yet. Aruna Dindane will be very disappointed after 31 August, but I don't think he will stay frustrated. He is not stupid. He knows that he can only get a transfer if he plays well. Last season, after a terrific first round, even Manchester United were interested. But after a bad second round, there wasn't interest for him. He has to obey the rules. And he still has a contract..."

Chairman Vanden Stock: "It seems like Aruna Dindane doesn't want to play for us anymore. I will wait until I return to Belgium to give my opinion. No, he didn't call me. Why would he? I told him the same thing six times. He is not allowed to leave."
