TRANSFERS The club just announced a new incoming transfer: Adrien Trebel leaves Standard de Liège and joins RSC Anderlecht. The news comes unexpectedly as Standard and Anderlecht are huge rivals and the relationship between both clubs is not really good.

Adrien Trebel was one of Standard's key players. The player already indicated he wanted to leave Standard and refused to join the 'Rouches'on training camp, but no one expected a transfer to Anderlecht. AA Ghent was following the player and was also close to a deal with the midfielder. Yet, he decided to make a move to Anderlecht. The club described that the negotiations with Standard took place in "an atmosphere of mutual respect".

Trebel has the French nationality and may serve as a backup for Tielemans or Dendoncker on the midfield. With his arrival, coach Weiler gains a serious additional option on the midfield. This would also allow him to move Dendoncker to the heart of the defence if necesssary. In case either Tielemans or Dendoncker would leave the club by the end of the season, Trebel can take their place. So his transfer is also an option for the future.

The transfer amount remains unknown for now.
