Official: Mitrovic joins Anderlecht

The official website of Partizan Belgrade just announced that Aleksandar Mitrovic will join Anderlecht. The striker will arrive at the end of the month. Anderlecht paid around 5 million euro for the 18 year old Serbian player.


"The club would like to thank Mitrovic for his time here in Partizan and decided to grant him his transfer to Anderlecht". Mitrovic will first play with Partizan in the qualification rounds of the Europa League before joining his new team mates in Anderlecht.

After a serious game of poker, the Anderlecht management finally managed to land the offensive reinforcement that was needed. After a good start of the negotiations, the transfer did not get officially confirmed. A few days ago, Anderlecht announced they would withdraw their offer for Mitrovic, probably to put pressure on the Partizan direction board. This seemed to have worked now. The Serbian joins Anderlecht. Also Udinese was interested in the player.
