It looked like Thorgan Hazard would move to Anderlecht for a long time, but there was no deal in the end. "Yet, there was a principal agreement", says Hazard's manager John Bico. But he was the person who blew off the transfer.

John Bico plans the career of Thorgan Hazard very carefully. He explains why Zulte-Waregemem is a better team to play for than Anderlecht or KRC Genk in "Het Nieuwsblad": "I didn't thinj it was interesting to play for Anderlecht on rental base", says Bico. "Anderlecht is a too big team to "come by" as a young talent."

Bico says it would have been his pleasure to guide Hazard to Anderlecht if Chelsea was willing to sell Hazard. Chelsea would have loved to see Hazard playing in the Champions League with Anderlecht, but Bico told it would be better for his development if he played for Zulte-Waregem.
