Southampton interested in Stanciu

TRANSFERS Nicolae Stanciu became Belgium's most expensive incoming transfer. Anderlecht paid around 10 million euro for the Romanian player. Stanciu made a good impression during his first match, but rapidly disappoint staff and fans in the next games until he finally ended up on the bench. Nonetheless, English club Southampton is showing interest.

It seems unlikely though that Anderlecht will cooperate on a transfer. The Mauves are going for the title and need Stanciu to realise their ambitions. The staff made clear not to have lost faith in Stanciu's capabilities.

Two other players will certainly be leaving Anderlecht during the winter break: Hamdi Harboui and Nathan Kabasele. Harbaoui arrived in Brussels in August 2016. He never really got any serious chances to prove himself. According to coach Weiler, his behaviour is unprofessional. He therefore has to leave the club. Charleroi are keen on landing the striker within the next few days. His salary might still form an obstacle for the club though.

Also Nathan Kabasele disappointed coach Weiler. Kabasele had his last chance one month ago in the Cup match against Charleroi, which did not end well. The striker can therefore leave. At the moment, only a club from division 1B is interested.
