Hugo Broos was very releaved after the match. "We've played a good match. Benfica played very well-organised in the beginning, but I knew we would qualify when we scored the 1-0.

"But I don't like everyone talking about pressure. It was an important match, but it's still a football game. If we had been eliminated today, we would be satisfied too, because we played well."

"I knew Portugesian football was very technical, and very defensive. But if those teams come under pressure, it becomes difficult for them. They also had a big disadvantage: their competition hasn't started yet."

Also Anderlecht-chairman Roger Vanden Stock was delighted with the second qualification for the Champions League in a row.

"I have to congratulate everyone", he started. I was optimistic before the match, and that was justified. This is the award for years of work. Anderlecht always play well in important games. We have a great team. This also prooves it was the right decision to keep the team together. It's just great!"

"I hope I can convince Aruna Dindane to stay in Anderlecht", continued Vanden Stock. "I'm sure I will receive several offers tomorrow, but I think we can keep him. He will leave Anderlecht, but not this year. The third year after we built the team, is an important year. And we want to complete that year with Aruna. If we play like today in the Champions League, I'm sure we can qualify for the second stage."
