Anderlecht beat Racing Genk today with 1-2 and is now really on course to win the title. Genk and Standard seem eliminated. Zulte Waregem and Bruges follow at two points. The Mauves can already win the title next game.

Racing Genk started with confidence after their Cup victory but after 15 minutes the visitors had restored the balance. Not much later, Suarez was sent deep and scored: 0-1. Anderlecht continued to control the game and Mbokani could have doubled the lead. He appeared alone in front of Köteles, but the goalie saved. Seconds later, Kara's 140km/h effort went into the goal: 1-1.

After the break, Anderlecht had problems with Genk's offensive intentions. Anele could have brought is team ahead but he missed the open chance. Then the moment of truth came: Suarez felt something in the box and went down: penalty according to referee Wouters. Gillet took it and ... missed once more. The ball went on the crossbar. In the end, Anderlecht took the three points anyway: De Zeeuw missed his shot, but the ball deviated on Hyland's foot and went in: 1-2. "The ugliest goal of my career", the Dutchman twittered. But the three points count!
