The city of Brussels is still looking for a location of the new national stadium. The idea is that Anderlecht will get involved in the process. The club will have to finance a large part.

Anderlecht would like to enlarge their Vanden Stock Stadium, but the municipality of Anderlecht did not really agree with the plans. The stadium has to be lower than planned and the parking garage cannot be constructed. Further, the municipality imposed a ridiculous high parking tariff on the fans. Therefore, the club is slowly but surely considering to leave its current location.

And that's where the city of Brussels is hoping on. The city needs a new stadium if they want to participate on Euro 2020. Meanwhile, several locations have been identified where a new stadium of 50.000 seats could be built. Schaarbeek-Formation is not an option anymore. Neerpede is, but due to local protest, it has become unlikely. Further, two locations on the Heysel are possible. And now, also the NATO grounds in Haren have been suggested. NATO will move in 2015 and their old buildings will be demolished.

A final decision is expected before the end of the year.
