A superiour Anderlecht got their first victory in the play-offs yesterday. The Mauves beat Lokeren with 3-0, a result that was already on the scoreboard before the break. In the second half, Deschacht was sent off.

Anderlecht played in a 4-4-2 formation again, because that proved to be key to success against Brugge. This means, De Sutter started next to Mbokani while Praet remained on the bench.

The home team took a great start. After five minutes, Bruno centered for Jovanovic who headed the opening goal against the net. The Mauves kept looking for another goal, but keeper Copa performed well with two excellent saves on headers of Mbokani. Not much later, that same Mbokani set up an attack that eventually reached De Sutter. He scored the second of the evening with a header.

Lokeren couldn't do anything in the first half. Proto barely had to stop a ball and before the break it even became 3-0 when a hard shot of Kljestan went over Copa into the goal.

The second half started with a red card. Deschacht tackled on the ball, but also hit Trompet in the effort. Referee Nzolo showed red, to the surprise of everyone. With one man down, Anderlecht were limited to a good organisation and fast counter attacks which led to an excellent chance for Suarez in the end. The visitors remained harmless and never posed a serious threat.
