Mbokani to quit as an international?

Dieumerci Mbokani will probably quit as an international. Congo lost points agains Libia and the home fans insulted and attacked Mbokani and Mputu. After the game, coach Claude Leroy quit his job.


Mbokani responded disappointed. Leroy was an important figure for him. Earlier, the striker had already announced he would quit in case Congo wouldn't qualify for the World Cup in Brazil. Those chances have become slim now. So it's most likely Mbokani will not play any international games anymore.

This could also be an extra bonus for Mbokani though. Clubs prefer not to send their players away for international games. Such a decision could convince top clubs to land Mbokani this summer.
