Anderlecht lost for the first time in many months in the Belgian League. Zulte Waregem won in Brussels with 0-1. Berrier scored the only goal of the match. The Mauves firmly maintain their first place though.
It was a complete offday for the home side. In the first half, there were a lot of good intentions with ball possession and combination football. But the pace was too slow and the visitors defended well. Mbokani and Praet tried their luck but couldn't surprise goalkeeper Bossut.
Zulte Waregem counter attacked enthusiastically and were even more dangerous than the Mauves this way. Naessens had an excellent chance in the first half, but Proto saved.
In the second half, Proto suddenly had a lot more work. Anderlecht slowly but surely collapsed and the second in the ranking saw their chance to take over command of the match. Eventually, Proto got beaten by Berrier: 0-1.
The goal served as a wake up call for Anderlecht and with De Sutter reinforcing the offensive compartiment, there was more pressure forward. Yet, Anderlecht could only threaten Bossut twice, both times via Deschacht. This way, the defeat was logical.
