Anderlecht and Standard both got one point from yesterday's clash. The match ended with 3 red cards and 4 goals. This way, Standard remain at 13 points of Anderlecht, but the Mauves' winning streak ended.

Anderlecht took an excellent start when Biglia placed the ball in the upper corner after just two minutes of play. Anderlecht kept passing at a high pace and forced Standard into defensive positions. But slowly, the more physical play of the visitors started dominating the midfield. This also led to the equaliser of Batshuayi. The ball was lost on the midfielder and the Standard striker outran Nuytinck and placed the ball under Proto into the goal.

The physical and sometimes unsporting play of Standard became too much for Jovanovic. After 40 minutes of play, he took revenge after being pushed: red and Anderlecht down to 10.

During half time, Van den Brom was forced to change his tactics. To counteract for the red card and the physically strong Standard players, he swapped Praet for Kanu and Bruno for Odoi, moving Gillet to the midfield. That way, the technical football of the home side made place for a more solid organisation. Though it didn't help that much at first. The champions were overpowered and soon Buyens headed the 1-2 on the scoreboard.

The fans and the team regained hope when Vainqueur received his second yellow. Suddenly, Anderlecht had the midfield under control again, but without Bruno's and Praet's creativity chances were scarce. One good action ended on the crossbar.

Van den Brom decided to play all or nothing and brought in striker Armenteros for Kljestan. But soon the midfield became seriously underpopulated when also Biglia was sent off with his second yellow. A nine men Anderlecht bravely kept pushing Standard back and five minutes before the end, Gillet headed the equaliser into the goal: 2-2 final result.
