Will Anderlecht participate in a new national stadium?

In 2020, the European Championship will be organised in 13 countries. The Royal Belgian Football Federation wants Belgium to be one of those 13. Therefore, a new stadium in Brussels is needed.


"Let us be honest. A large stadium in Brussels is only possible if it's also the home of a club", said CEO Martens. "Therefore, Anderlecht will have to participate and co-fund a new stadium with the assistance of the Belgian Football Federation. We will participate on the bid and then we can start talking about a stadium."
