Cup: Anderlecht advance to semi-finals

Anderlecht qualified for the semi-finals of the Cup by beating AA Gent in the second leg of the quarter finals with 1-0. The first leg, in Ghent, ended on a 1-1 draw.


Anderlecht started with several changes in the team: Biglia, who is still absent, was replaced by Kanu. Wasilweski replaced Kouyate who is still recovering from an injury and Deschacht took Safari's place. De Sutter replaced Mbokani who is playing on the Africa Cup.

Anderlecht and AA Gent started slow but when the visiting defence blundered after 16 minutes, Praet could center for De Sutter who scored.

The Mauves didn't really have a problem with the visitors, who only had one good chance just before half time. With a 1-0 bonus, Anderlecht easily controlled the game, sporadically creating a few chances. Only in the last few minutes, Gent tried to be a bit more offensive, but the score remained 1-0 and Anderlecht are qualified for the next round.
