Lucas Biglia is displaying disappointing behaviour. The Anderlecht captain did not show up in Turkey on the club's winter training facilities. No one knows where he is, but it seems he is trying to enforce a transfer this way.

Disappeared
Biglia was expected back on training. The team is currently in Belek in Turkey to pass the winter break. But the Argentinian never showed up. Manager Van Holsbeeck also had a lot of trouble reaching the player to get more information about his situation.

Apparently Biglia hopes to put Anderlecht under pressure this way so the club will lower the transfer fee. Biglia has to cost between 9 and 10 million euros. An amount not many European clubs can pay in these difficult times. Biglia indicated he wanted to leave this winter and hopes to realise his wish by not showing up for Anderlecht anymore.

Blackmail
Whether Anderlecht will lower the transfer price is not yet known. On one hand, it never pays off for a club to have an unhappy and demotivated player in the team. But on the other hand, Biglia still has a contract in Brussels until 2015. In 2011, Biglia signed his current deal in which the exact transfer price is being mentioned: 8 million for Anderlecht (plus fees for agents and managers, which ends up at a total between 9 and 10 million). Further, blackmailing cannot be tolerated in any way!

Reaction
Biglia's team mates reacted disappointed. The team is now without a captain and it will probably have its effect on the morale as well. This kind of behaviour, especially for a well respected captain, is unexpected, unacceptable and regrettable.

The reaction of the fans still has to be seen. Biglia always was very popular and respected by the supporters. Abandoning the club like this, will not go unnoticed.
