Bruges humiliated: 6-1 !

A brilliant Anderlecht walked over rival Club Bruges yesterday. The Mauves humiliated the Brugians with 6-1 and remain first in the ranking. The victory was not historical though. The largest win over Bruges was 7-1 (in 46-47).


Anderlecht impressed in yesterday's clasico: with a lot of pressure on the visiting defence and fast combination football, Bruges were rapidly forced back. The first chance was for the visitors though with an effort of Tchite. Anderlecht took over then and scored when goalie Jorgacevic was unable to clear Kljestan's header: Bruno scored in the rebound.

Not much later, Gillet's effort was stopped by the Brugian goalie. But the attacks kept on coming. Gillet opened for Mbokani on the wing and the Congolese lifted the ball over Jorgacevic from a sharp angle: a brilliant goal!

A bit later Mbokani could have scored again but his header went over the bar. Five minutes before the break, Jovanovic was brought down in the box. The Serbian converted the penalty himself.

Also after the break, the Mauves continued created chances: Jovanovic centered and Kljestan scored in one time. A quick counter of Club Bruges resulted in 4-1 through Lestienne. But Anderlecht kept looking for more goals: Bruno hit the upright, Biglia missed in front of goal and Bruno's effort was saved. A bit later, Biglia hit the crossbar and Gillet missed in the rebound.

Short before the end, Praet was pushed down in the box and Biglia converted the penalty. In the last second, Praet scored the 6-1 with a fantastic goal.
