Mbokani risks suspension

From hero to zero, you could say. Dieumerci Mbokani scored two goals in the game against Lokeren, giving Anderlecht another victory. However, the man of the match now risks a suspension for kicking another player in the face.


It's not quite as bad as it sounds. After a body check with Lokeren player Overmeire, Mbokani made a subtle kicking gesture as he fell to the ground, hitting the other player in the face.

The referee had not noticed the incident which clearly deserved a red card for Mbokani. However, sanctions can be made on the base of TV images from the game.

Mbokani could be facing one or two match days of suspension for his actions. Next game for Anderlecht is this weekend, away at Standard Liege.
