Yesteryday 25 September 2012 it had been exaclty 100 days since John van den Brom officially became Anderlecht's new head coach. Walloon newspaper La Derniere Heure writes out the report card. Result: 83%.

The report was not based on just the results. Other factors were taken into account, such as his relationship with the players, press and fans.

A summary:

Results: 7/10
His first goal was to get Anderlecht into the group stage of the Champions League. He survived 2 qualifications rounds and earned the club 15 million.

Game plan: 8/10
He adapts his tactics to his opponant but he wants to play an offensive game. He's not afraid to make changes and has made some impressive substitutions during games.

Coaching: 8/10
He's very active and involved during matches and consantly giving players advice. He won't hesitate to adress the fourth referee, all in an acceptable manner.

Communication with players: 9/10
Players know where they stand with this coach. With previous coaches Jacobs, Broos and Vercauteren, players often complained about miscommunication or no communication at all. Of course in every team there are unhappy substitutes, in this case Juhasz.

Press communication: 9/10
Responds well to press. He's never cynical or unclear. Gives the journalists a straight answer.

Bonding with the fans: 8/10
As opposed to previous coach Ariël Jacobs, who refused to have them, there are now open trainings to the public. The coach tries to be close to the fans, also through his Twitter account. It won't be long until he's a true Anderlecht icon.

Training sessions: 9/10
Van den Brom participates in the trainings, he brings something new to the table. Trainings are usually longer, but when he notices his players are not up for it, he's not afraid to cut the sessions short.

Young players: 8/10
Van den Brom definetely pulled the youth card. Best example at the moment is Massimo Bruno. Praet as well is getting more chances and he reinvented Iakovenko.

Transfers: 8/10
Thanks to the coach's persuasion with the board, Bram Nuytinck was signed just in time. After 3 games things are looking good for the 22-year-old Dutch defender.
