Anderlecht defeated Beerschot in a boring game on Saturday. The Mauves now have 4 points. Club Brugge and Zulte Waregem are leading with the maximum of 6 points after two matchdays.

Anderlecht started in a 4-4-2 system, as prefered by coach Van den Brom. But the team started hesitating and Beerschot didn't have any problems with Anderlecht's pace. The goal of Kanu after 20 minutes came as a surprise. He scored with a volley after a combination with Jovanovic.

That same Jovanovic was the most active of all Anderlecht players, but also he could not create large chances. Beerschot had one excellent chance via Wuytens, but he missed alone in front of the goal. Though the linesman had also flagged for off-side.

The second half wasn't better. Kanu and Biglia had some smaller chances and Mbokani's header struck the crossbar. A few minutes before the end, Anderlecht got a penalty: this time Gillet missed...
