John van den Brom and his team arrived yesterday in Austria for a one-week training camp. Shortly after arrival, the first training session was held. And the coach showed little mercy. It was hot ouside, and training was tough.

It's remarkable how much training is done with the ball, a lot more than with John's predecessor Ariël Jacobs. Van den Brom seems to really engage with the group. During training, the emphasis was on solid passing and ball possession. Both head coach John and his assistant Besnik Hasi were very enthusiastic in their coaching.

All of the player's heart rates were measured and directly uploaded to the physical coach's computer.

Red Devils Denis Odoi and Guillaume Gillet left training 20 minutes early. "It was their first training after the holiday, so I'll show some compassion," van den Brom jokes.

Anderlecht will be training 3 times a day: once in the morning, once in the afternoon and a daily cardio session from half past seven 'till ten to eight.

This Sunday, a friendly game will be played against Austria's biggest club Red Bull Salzburg.
