After Meme Tchité, Standard de Liège is now at the risk of losing their other number one striker, Gohi Bi Cyriac, as well. His manager says his client wants to leave Standard. Anderlecht is interested, but still in doubt.
When Cyriac arrived in Liège, there were players like Jovanovic, Tchité and Mbokani, from whom he could have learned a lot. Not that they're all gone, he wants to leave the club as well. "He's very worried about his future," says his manager, Mogi Bayat.
Cyriac wants to stay in Belgium so that he can apply for a Belgian passport, which will make a potential foreign transfer that much easier. During his stay, he wants to play for the titel, which currently seems an unattainable goal for Standard.
Meanwhile, Anderlecht is in doubt about his case. "Everyone knows Cyriac is a great striker, but this is a difficult matter," says Philippe Collin from Anderlecht. At the end of last season, Cyriac got severely injured (torn ligaments) and he won't be able to play for at leats another 6 months. It's unlikely that Anderlecht will sign a player who's out for nearly half a season.
