Anderlecht took a serious option on the title today by beating Club Brugge with 0-1. The game was marked by a lot of bad passes and a high tension. The home side controlled the game and Anderlecht counter-attacked, once successful

Club took a furious start and grabbed Anderlecht by the throat. The home team had more than 60 percent ball possession, but didn't really create any serious chance since the Brugian strikers walked into Anderlecht's off-side trap time after time.

Anderlecht picked their moments on the counter attack. Suarez found Mbokani and the Congolese scored the opening goal after 15 minutes of play.

The Brugians took a serious blow and weren't able to recover. Figueras had a sole chance, but his effort was too weak and even missed the target. The Mauves continued their favourite game and Mbokani proved to be a serious threat. The striker dribbled past the Brugian defence in the box and was stopped by a foul of Hoefkens. The referee refused to give the otherwise clear penalty.

The second half was a copy of the first. Club pushed Anderlecht back, but the visiting defence didn't really come into any problems. The high balls and numerous corner kicks were easily headed out of the danger zone by Juhasz and co.

Mbokani was still dangerous on the counter attack. But the last pass was rarely good enough to finish off Club Brugge. Further, Hoefkens saved his team by throwing himself in front of a hard effort. Jorgacevic had to dive a shot out of the corner and Jovanovic and also Canesin were too selfish.

The best chance of the game came 10 minutes before the end. Replacements Lestienne and Vleminckx set up a good combination and eventually the ball struck the upright... Final result: 0-1.
