Lucescu: "We are better than Anderlecht now"

INTERVIEWS Shakhtar Donetsk are looking for revenge after the defeat in the Ukrainian competition last weekend. Coach Mircea Lucescu wants a reaction of his players. "Some players really disappointed me against Dnipro. They made some serious mistakes."

"We should forget about Dnipro now. I am happy Stepanenko and Taison are back. He is the leader of our attack. We have to realize this will be a tough match and we should be patient. We have a strong team and all the qualities to qualify."

Lucescu played against Anderlecht in 1990. A that time, he was coach at Dinamo Bucarest. "I remember we were the best team, but Anderlecht obtained the qualification. I have a lot of respect for Anderlecht, they have a tradition and won many prizes in the past. However, the situation has changed. Shakhtar is a better team now."
