INTERVIEWS Mile Svilar stopped two penalty kicks and showed the way towards the European Championship for the national U17. However, he did not want to be praised. "A good goalkeeper always needs a little luck", he reacted.

"I was not nervous for the penalty shoot-out. As a goalkeeper you have nothing to lose. The player should score, there are no expectations for the goalkeeper. I stopped two penalty kicks, but I don't have any special tricks. I just look at the position of the player", Svilar said.

The 16-year-old goalkeeper refused to take the honour for the European Championship qualification. "Three matches of the elite round ended with a clean sheet. That means I have a great defence in front of me. They did a terrific job and it is also their merit that we are qualified."

The players now return to their teams and come back or the European Championship in the month of May. "I have high expectations for the EC", Svilar states. "You only get the occasion once in a lifetime to play such a European Championship. Last time, the U17 won a bronze medal, let's do better now."
