INTERVIEWS Ibrahima Conté finally got his chance to play against Shakhtar last Thursday and he rewarded the team with an assist for Frank Acheampong. Conté's manager hopes this is the start of a new chapter in his career. "He should take Acheampong as an example", he reacts.

Ibrahima Conté was close to a transfer in January but Anderlecht did not allow a transfer to Ostend and Conté did not feel like moving abroad. "Herman Van Holsbeeck had a good talk with Conté after the transfer window", Younos Oumouri, Conté's manager, claims. "Van Holsbeeck told him not to lose hope and to continue working hard. That showed the club still believe in him."

Conté is now convinced to leave Anderlecht only in a positive atmosphere. "You can only earn a transfer by becoming a key player here and to be decisive, just like Thursday. Conté worked hard the last few weeks, even trained harder than the rest. He felt again like a youngster who needs to prove him."

Frank Acheampong is an example for Conté. "He started the season as a back-up plan, but showed himself every time he got his chance. Once he got the confidence, he didn't get out of the team anymore. Acheampong also showed he is worth to play for Anderlecht. Now, it's time for Conté to convince them."
