INTERVIEWS Silvio Proto played a good match against Mouscron-Péruwelz but it could not prevent Anderlecht from suffering a 2-1 defeat. The goalkeeper also does not understand what goes wrong against the smaller teams but does admit things need to change.

"Everyone is responsible for this defeat", the goalie says. "I fail to understand why we have difficulties against small teams, while we are able to make a great performance in the Europe League. The match at Le Canonnier was one of the weakest of the season so far."

The two goals came from individual mistakes by offensive players. "But that is not an excuse", Proto reacts. "The defence, myself included, should be able to fix these mistakes. It worries me that we do not have a player who can turn the match with one action."

"I really cannot say what we are doing wrong against teams like this. It is unexplainable what happens once we are on the pitch. Nobody has bad intentions, but it seems like we forgot the speech of the chairman a few weeks ago."

Play-offs

There is a gap between Anderlecht and Club Bruges of nine points, which means five points difference at the start of the play-offs (provided that Anderlecht win against Kortrijk). "It will be a tough nut to crack, there is no more time to lose. It's a good thing we won twice against Club Bruges this season. Nevertheless, if we keep playing like this we do not stand a chance in the title race."
