TRANSFERS - INTERVIEWS Alper Ademoglu went from Anderlecht to Schalke 04 in the winter break and now explains why. "It was my own choice to leave Anderlecht. It was better for me to go to Germany and to develop my skills over there."

"I announced this by phone to manager Herman Van Holsbeeck. He said they did not count on me anymore so I emptied my locker. It took a while before I left because I had to sort out a lot of administrative stuff."

Also Juventus was interested, but Ademogly choose for Schalke 04. "I have more chance to get into the first team at Schalke. German football is more physical than Belgian, so I am spending a lot of time in the fitness center these days."

Ademoglu did not play for Schalke 04 yet. "I am still waiting for my FIFA license, which should be alright in the next days to come. I am really motivated to show myself this season."
