Anderlecht knocked Bruges six points back by beating them 3-0 today. AA Gent, that lost against Lierse, follow on four points of the Mauves. Mbokani, Jovanovic and Suarez scored the three goals this afternoon.

Anderlecht started with the speed of light. After just three minutes of play, Mbokani opened for Suarez on the wing. The Argentinian got past his defender and centered, where Mbokani himself pushed the ball high into the goal: 1-0.

Anderlecht started to control the game quickly, allowing more ball possession to the visitors. The Brugians had some chances in the first half, with the best for Vadis, but he missed alone in front of Proto. Though they didn't have the strength of doing something with the possession.

Mbokani then claimed a penalty when he was pulled down in the box. On the other side, Deschacht tackled right on the edge of the box. Luckily for the Mauves, the referee gave a free kick outside the box and not a penalty.

On a counter attack, Jovanovic doubled the lead. Though the Serbian got some help from the Brugian defence. With this double bonus, Anderlecht made it to half time without giving away any good chances.

The second half was less exciting. Anderlecht controlled the game and didn't make any defensive mistakes as they did from time to time in the first half. When Suarez was sent deep, he proved to be faster than the last Brugian defender. He dribbled past goalie Jorgasevic and placed the ball against the net: 3-0. Bruges escaped a humiliation at the end of the game, when the home side missed a few excellent chances. This way, the result remained 3-0.
