Olympiakos-RSCA: HT 1-0, thanks to blundering referee

GAMES Just like last year in Moscow, Anderlecht was again put at a disadvantage by the referee. After just five minutes Acheampong broke through the visiting defence and was pulled down. A red card would have been logical, but the referee even decided in favour of the home side...

From then on, the Greek team developed some pressure and forced Proto to three excellent saves. The Mauves restored the balance in the match. Apparently this was the sign for referee Hunter to act once more: Badji controlled the ball in the box with his chest. Yet Hunter saw hands, put the ball on the penalty spot and Fortounis scored. The Mauves were not able to create any serious chances in the remaining 15 minutes of the first half; but neither did Olympiakos.

So at half time, the score line is 1-1 on aggregate. Yet just like last year, we've seen another sample of unacceptable refereeing for a European game. Let's hope justice prevails at the end of the match though. How low can you go Mr. Hunter? We're awaiting the spectacle of the second half!

Update: meanwhile Hunter's Wikipedia page was already updated, by an Anderlecht fan probably:
