GAMES Anderlecht obtained a good result for the return match in the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Europe League against Olympiakos. The final score was 1-0 after a bizarre goal by Kara Mbodj.

The first big chance was for Anderlecht but Okaka missed the header. A couple of minutes later, Olympiakos reacted through a shot by Ideye that hit the post.

Most ball possession was for the Greeks in the first half, but Anderlecht had most scoring opportunities through an excellent Filip Djuricic. After 45 minutes, the score was still 0-0.

Olympiakos came more motivated out of the dressing room and pushed back Anderlecht. Anderlecht had to battle to keep the zero. Surprisingly, it were the Mauves who scored first. Büttner with the corner kick, Okaka intercepted on the Greek goalkeeper and Kara Mbodj was able to put the ball in the net with a great volley. After a discussion between the referee and his assistants, the goal was agreed for Anderlecht.

The last twenty minutes were a physical battle but the score stayed 1-0 until the end. One goal in Greece should be sufficient for Anderlecht to qualify for the next stage.
