Cooperation with D'Onofrio is official

Luciano D'Onofrio and Anderlecht are going to cooperate. The former chairman of Standard will assist Anderlecht in their transfer policy without being a member of the direction board (for now).


D'Onofrio is a powerful man in the football world. He was the one who arranged the transfer of Zinedine Zidane to Juventus for example. But he was also active in Standard and built the team that won two titles a few years ago. He has a lot of connections, especially in Southern Europe.

Vanden Stock and D'Onofrio overcame their differences (about a sponsor deal and Witsel's horrible tackle on Wasilewski) last summer. The two managed to land Mbokani and Jovanovic in Anderlecht and now share the ambition to bring Anderlecht back to the European top.
